Another month has flown by and my short term goals haven’t made quite the same progress. Part of the problem was a superb holiday to my favourite place in the World, New York City; but it didn’t stop me from racking up a few miles.
Last year I discovered a fascinating-yet-underloved running distance that has won my heart. The Oxford University’s Iffley Road track hosted the Iffley Miles, along with my very approximate attempt to emulate Sir Roger Bannister.
Back in January I was asked to get involved as an #extramile ambassador. As a thank you they invited me, and my fellow ambassadors, to a marathon training day led by top coach and Marathon Talk host, Martin Yelling. It was a great day so I’d like to share the key hints, tips and advice to help with your own marathon training.
Back in November I asked people to share their marathon experiences to help me get a feel for what I’ve let myself in for as I look to take on my first marathon in April at the London Marathon in aid of African Children’s Fund. Through January I will be using my Janathon posts to share a selection of them with you.
