With the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon just a week away my attention turns from training to kit. After my race rehearsal last week I’ve been checking I have everything I need for race day.
The last day of Janathon was due to be the first time I volunteered at parkrun. The weather had other ideas. From nowhere, we awoke to a covering of snow which, due to understandable safety concerns, put paid to my tail-running duties. It didn’t stop me going for a relaxing leg loosener before tomorrow’s Watford Half though.
Last month I was selected to be part of a Running Bug team to put the new TomTom Runner Cardio watch to the test. Having used the adidas miCoach SmartRun watch for the last 9 months it was a great opportunity to put them head-to-head.
As I sit here now, Sunday the 15th of July seems a very long time ago. Over the last 13 weeks I have completed 41 of the 52 scheduled work outs in my build up to my first half marathon since the 2005 Great North Run (I know I’ve previously quoted the 2006 GNR as my last half but, it turns out after reviewing my medals, that 2005 was my last!) and hopefully my first under 2 hours.
