Here’s the next installment about my recent participation in the international sketchbook project organised by Arthouse.
The theme I chose was “Along The Line” which I’ve interpretted both literally in terms of the style of my drawings but also to use the pages to portray different things associated with the timeline of my life so far – a mini-autobiography, if you will.
Having run out of money I returned home to Witney from Newcastle after completing my Masters but after a few years I was North East bound again – just this time it was North East Scotland!
Taking an opportunity to work for our head office I up sticks and bought a flat in Aberdeen. I managed to find a flat mate before even buying the flat – my great schoolmate, Chris Smith was looking for a new casino to impress with his croupier skills so came along for the adventure.
Both loving our drinking, music and the inevitable result of mixing the two that some would describe as dancing we frequented many of Aberdeen’s watering holes but would always end up back in one in particular – Triple Kirks.
So in honour of Triple Kirks I have picked a trio of lyrics that became inextricably linked to our nights of shape-making.
