Here’s the next installment about my recent participation in the international sketchbook project organised by Arthouse.
The theme I chose was “Along The Line” which I’ve interpretted both literally in terms of the style of my drawings but also to use the pages to portray different things associated with the timeline of my life so far – a mini-autobiography, if you will.
I was lucky enough to be in Newcastle when the Millennium Bridge was built. I say built, but it was more “installed” – delivered on the back of a huge floating crane barge.
The very modern “blinking eye” design was well received with locals old and young. It still looks amazing, especially with the Sage and the Tyne Bridge in the background, although I’ve chosen to draw it on it’s own to empahsise the iconic nature of it’s design.
